GE Energy, NTC Sign Licensing Agreement for Industrial Steam Turbines
GE Energy announced that it has signed a technology licensing agreement with Nanjing Turbine & Electric Machinery Group (NTC). Under the agreement, NTC will have the license to use GE’s technology for steam turbine designs for industrial applications in China and Southeast Asia.
NTC, long active in power generation, now is expanding into the industrial sector. The agreement with GE will enable NTC to broaden its technology capabilities and offer customers proven, reliable solutions for industrial applications,” said Mr. Shen Qun, president, Nanjing Turbine & Electric Co.
The technology licensing agreement covers both boiler feed pump and mechanical drive steam turbines for industrial applications, which will be manufactured and sold by NTC throughout the region. This industrial steam turbine technology licensing agreement builds upon GE’s long-standing relationship with NTC, one of the major manufacturers of power generation equipment in China, which has been a GE manufacturing associate since the 1980s.
GE Energy has been active in China for more than 90 years and has provided the country with nearly 340 steam and gas turbines. Worldwide, more than 5,600 GE steam turbines have been installed or committed for fossil-fired, combined cycle, integrated gasification combined cycle, industrial, petrochemical and nuclear plants.
