GE Opens Smart Grid Laboratory

GE’s Digital Energy business announced it will be opening a Smart Grid Technology Center of Excellence in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. The center is expected to add about 400 new jobs over three years and will combine the world headquarters for GE Energy Services and a smart grid engineering laboratory.

The smart grid lab will be a collaboration between GE and the Georgia Institute of Technology. The partnership will work to develop and test new smart grid technologies for energy transmission, distribution and consumption, along with the integration of renewable energy sources.
