Posted on April 25, 2011

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) has received an order for an M701F gas turbine and generator for a gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) power generation plant, which Electricity Generation Co. of Bangladesh Ltd. (EGCB), a state-owned power generation company, will build in Haripur near Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

The 410 MW New Haripur Combined Cycle Power Plant will be built adjacent to the existing power plant, where three MW251 gas turbine and generator sets that were supplied by MHI to BPDP are in operation.

MHI will manufacture and supply the gas turbine, and will also send technical advisors for installation work, commissioning and performance test. The generator will be manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric Corp.

Shipment of the gas turbine and generator to Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. (HDEC), who is EPC contractor for the GTCC power plant, is scheduled in April 2012.
