Local Utility Purchases Cat Gen-Sets

Posted on April 10, 2012

Caterpillar Inc. announced that a local utility company has signed an agreement to purchase two 6CM32C and four 9CM32C diesel generator sets and associated equipment to provide power to St. Pierre, a French territory.

The new power plant will provide up to 22 MW to the island, located south of the Canadian province of Newfoundland.

The utility company has assembled a joint venture, including Cat dealer Eneria, to build the power plant on St. Pierre. Once completed, the new plant will provide double the capacity of the old plant. Work on the project will start in early 2012, with the Cat generators being delivered near the end of the year.
