Wood Group GTS has successfully completed US$3M worth of multi-system icon control system upgrades on Pratt & Whitney FT4, GE LM2500 and Solar Centaur gas turbines.

The company said optimizing operating costs is driving plant and asset managers to rethink previous commitments to proprietary original equipment manufacturers’ (OEMs’) purpose-built control systems.

Wood Group’s icon control system enables gas turbine owners and operators to upgrade their technology with a flexible and customizable open-architecture controls platform, the company said.
