Alstom Turbines for Nigerian Power Plant

Alstom has won contracts worth over US$237.6 million for the supply of equipment and services for the Afam VI combined-cycle power plant project at Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Alstom will supply three, GT13E2 gas turbines, each rated 167 MW, and auxiliary equipment to the Korean firm Daewoo E&C Co. Ltd who is in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction, for the end customer Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC).

Under a separate agreement signed with SPDC, Alstom will provide long-term operation support and maintenance services for the gas turbines and generators. It will also provide initial technical support to help set up a service organization at the site.

The order brings the total of GT13E2 machines sold by Alstom to 109 units. The fleet has now accumulated more than 2 700 000 operating hours.
