Centrax Installs New Control System

Posted on December 20, 2005

Centrax has installed a new control system on two CX 501-KB5 generator sets at a China clay facility in Imerys, Cornwall in England. The new control system features a touch-screen panel and vibration and temperature monitoring devices. In addition, through a new PLC (Programmable Logic Coordinator) and SCADA PC, data logging and monitoring will be improved with remote communication now facilitated, said Centrax. The system is also connected to the head office of Elyo UK for remote monitoring and software updates. Centrax is based in Newton Abbot, England.

The units supply electricity throughout the factory and the heat from the generators is used for the clay drying ovens. The two Centrax generator sets are managed by Elyo UK which operates nine Centrax units across the UK.
