Posted on December 17, 2008

Located 400 kilometers north of Toyko, the Yamagata Green Power Co., Ltd's 2 MW combined heat and power plant uses B&W Vølund's proprietary updraft gasification technology to turn 60 tons of wood chips a day into wood gas used to generate heat and electricity. JFE Environmental Solutions Corp., the plant's designer, licensed the technology in 2003.

B&W Vølund licenses its biomass gasification technology for power plants around the world and most recently supplied combined cycle gasification technology for use in up to 25 combined heat and power plants in southern Italy.
