Caldwell Energy Completes Wet Compression Application

Posted on December 19, 2008

Caldwell Energy Company recently completed its first application of Wet Compression Technology on a General Electric Frame 7EA Combustion Turbine. The systems were installed on four GE Frame 7EA turbines for an east coast utility and are fully operational. The Wet Compression systems included Evaporative Cooling with Fog in order to maximize the benefit. According to Caldwell Energy, the system results included greater than 10% power gain, significantly improved heat rate, and a reduction in NOx emissions of nearly 50%. Caldwell Energy is currently applying this technology to several other Frame 7EA machines and will continue to monitor the results.
