MWM Positioned for 60 Hz Market with Superior Efficiency of TCG 2016C

Posted on December 6, 2008

Mannheim-based MWM GmbH, one of the world's leading providers of decentralized energy generation plants, has announced the launch of a new engine for the 60 Hz market. The TCG 2016C will be introduced as the successor of the TCG 2016K and is characterized by higher electrical and total efficiency, especially for bio- or sewage gas applications.

TCG 2016C is available in V12 and V16 configurations, provides an output ranging from 600 to 800 kWe and is capable of running on natural gas and special gases like sewage gas, biogas and landfill gas. Under ISO conditions, the natural gas engine (minimum methane number of 80) has a 3% higher electrical efficiency than the TCG 2016K.

A special biogas edition of the TCG 2016C has been developed for the growing North and South American biogas markets. It has a higher compression ratio in comparison to the natural gas edition with an electrical efficiency 40.8% for the 12-cylinder edition and 41.2% for the 16-cylinder edition under ISO conditions.

The launch of the TCG 2016C provides a complete power range--from 600 kW to 3600 kW--with its three engine series, the TCG 2016C, TCG2020 and TCG 2032.
