Posted on December 18, 2009

India and China have indicated they will have a large presence at the next Posidonia, scheduled to be held at the Hellenikon Exhibition Centre in Piraeus, Greece from June 7-11, 2010.

Organizers of this trade event report that strong export outlooks are likely to increase the demand for seaborne trade curbing overcapacity concerns on certain trade lines. "With its first national pavilion, Inda signals growth potential for the international shipping industry as the sub-continent's economy continues to project 9% growth rates for 2010," said Nana Michael, managing director, Posidonia Events S.A.

"China will also surpass previous appearances by staging two national pavilions for the first time at Posidonia 2010," added Michael. Large scale participation is also expected from Japan, Korea and Singapore. Strong participation from the lubricants sector, Castrol Marine and Chevron Marine is another importance feature of this upcoming event.

Organizers expect more than 1700 exhibitors from 80 countries with some 20,000 trade vistors to attend the exhibition.
