GE A Proper Fit For RasGas

Posted on December 15, 2010

RasGas Co. Limited (RasGas), a producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), is using GE's Dry Low NOx (DLN) combustion technology to reduce gas turbine emissions at its LNG complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar.

The retrofits for the company’s first six GE gas turbines have reduced its emissions by more than 50%, according to RasGas. The retrofitting is part of a long-term maintenance agreement between RasGas and GE. A GE team dedicated to the RasGas site is responsible for performing all maintenance of GE units.

GE’s DLN combustion technology is designed to help gas turbine operators meet lower emissions requirements without the injection of diluents, GE said.
