Posted on December 15, 2011

Wood Group GTS has received a multi-million dollar facility operations and maintenance and long-term gas turbine maintenance contract from Associated Electric Cooperative Inc. (AECI) for the Dell Power Plant in Arkansas, U.S.A.

Completed in 2008, the plant is a 580 MW combined-cycle facility with two natural gas fired GE Frame 7FA gas turbines providing power to support the six regional and 51 local electric cooperatives that receive power supplied by AECI.

Wood Group GTS will be responsible for care and custody of the plant, handling daily operations and routine maintenance as well as performing all major maintenance services on the gas turbines. The company will also supply new Frame 7FA hot gas path parts, repairs and field service.

Wood Group will also install the proprietary ECOMAX DLN automated tuning system. ECOMAX technology provides the station with increased output and will enhance the ability to optimize performance of the gas turbines, the company said.
