Alfa Laval Wins US$12 Million Clean Technology Order

Alfa Laval a manufacturer of in heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling products has received an order for its unique Packinox plate heat exchangers, which will be used in an IGCC (Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) power plant in the U.S. The order value is about US$12 million and was booked in late December. Delivery is scheduled for this year 2009.

The Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchangers will be used in a process that cleans the synthetic fuel gas made from coal before combustion. The gas will then be used in a gas turbine for power generation. “This is a new duty for the Alfa Laval Packinox heat exchanger and we are continuously looking for new applications for this unique product,” says Lars Renström, CEO and President of the Alfa Laval Group.
