Dresser Waukesha Engines to Drive Dresser Wayne Compression Systems for New CNG Filling Stations in Thailand

Posted on February 9, 2009

Dresser Waukesha is partnering with its sister company, Dresser Wayne to supply engines that will drive compressors in CNG (compressed natural gas) filling stations in Thailand.

In the first collaborative effort by the two Dresser businesses, Dresser Waukesha will supply 12 VGF engines which will be packaged with Dresser Wayne's Cubogas compression systems at the company's facility in Talamona, Italy. The packaged compression units will be shipped from Italy to Thailand and are scheduled for installation later this year at new filling stations in and around Bangkok.

The new stations will help meet the increased demand for CNG. In Thailand, as in many other developing countries, the number of cars powered by CNG has grown rapidly in response to concerns about the environment, fluctuating gasoline prices, the accessibility of natural gas and consumer subsidies. The stations, equipped with large engine-driven compression units, are designed for high volume and will service more customers more quickly.
