GE Oil & Gas Supports Subsea With New Test Facility
To support development and safety of subsea technology, GE Oil & Gas has opened its new Hyperbaric Testing Hall and a newly refurbished Electrical & Electronics Assembly Plant in Nailsea, United Kingdom.
The new hyperbaric test chamber facility simulates extreme deepwater pressure conditions up to 440 bar, equivalent to 4400 m water depth, enabling the precise testing of subsea control modules and other components, GE said.
The facilities are designed to provide the capability to test up to 300 subsea control modules each year, said GE, by simulating deepwater depths and pressures.
