Wärtsilä’s Board of Directors has appointed Björn Rosengren as the company’s new president and CEO, which will be effective Sept. 1. The current president, Ole Johansson, will retire.
Rosengren currently works as the senior executive vice president at Atlas Copco AB and as the business area president for Atlas Copco Construction and Mining Technique, Wärtsilä said. He is based in Shanghai, China.
Rosengren has held several management positions in the Swedish industrial group Atlas Copco since 1998. Prior to that, he led the hydraulic company Nordhydraulic, Nordwin AB, and worked for the welding company Esab Group.
