Centrax Packages To Russia Oil & Gas Field

Facility adding 62.4 MW to meet growing demand in challenging area

Posted on January 30, 2014

Centrax is supplying 12 gas turbine packages, each comprising a single 5.2 MW Rolls-Royce 501-KB7 gas turbine, for service at the UstTeguss field in the West Siberian plain, some 1600 km east of Moscow, Russia.

In the Tyumen region, which is in the heart of the competitive and environmentally challenging Siberian oil and gas industry, the Centrax units’ total generating capacity of 62.4 MW will meet the facility’s growing energy demands. The units will run on gas recovered from oil drilling operations that would normally be flared, Centrax said.

When commissioning work is completed, the number of Centrax generating sets operated by facility owner Rosneft will total 29.

The Tyumen region has an average yearly temperature of only 1.3°C, with continuous sub-freezing conditions for much of the winter.
