Increasing Emissions Control Portfolio

Yara acquires SCR systems provider H+H; assisting ship, plant owners to meet stringent emissions requirements

Posted on January 15, 2014

Yara International ASA has acquired H+H Umwelt-und-Industrietechnik GmbH, which designs and produces selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems for secondary NOx (nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide) reduction in marine and stationary land engines.

Yara said the acquisition has strengthened its position as a leader in emissions control for ships, industrial plants and heavy-duty vehicles, and will enable it to become the only company able to produce both major secondary NOx after-treatment equipment and the nitrogen-based reagents – urea and ammonia – needed to operate them.
