Wärtsilä Selected for Baseload Power
The City of Unalaska, Alaska, U.S.A. has selected a baseload power plant from Wärtsilä to supply electricity for the Port of Dutch Harbor; a hub of Alaska’s commercial fishing industry. The company will supply two Wärtsilä 12V32 generator sets for the project, producing a total output of more than 10 MW. Each generator is scheduled to run about 5000 hours per year. The project is being permitted and designed for a total of 4 units. The contract value of the project is US$4.3 million.
