Doosan Heavy Industries Signs A Four Power Plant Contract
South Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has signed a US$96 million contract to supply heat-recovery steam generators to four power plants in Iran. Under the deal, Doosan will supply eight generators to four combined-cycle power plants operated by the local Mapna Boiler Engineering & Manufacturing Company.
Heat-recovery steam generators convert heat into steam, which is used to drive steam turbines. The company began designing the equipment in June and will supply it in phases from April to December 2010. Doosan won its first contract to supply heat-recovery steam generators to Iran in 1999. The US$30 million contract covered the supply of generators to a power plant at Fars. Since then, the company has supplied 62 similar generators to customers in the country.
