Dresser Waukesha Introduces New Combined Heat, Power Package

Posted on August 5, 2010

Dresser Waukesha, a manufacturer of natural gas engines, has introduced a new combined heat and power (CHP) package for its APG1000 generator set that is designed to maximize total efficiency in CHP applications.

The CHP package for the 1 MW, APG1000 is expected to achieve up to 89.4% total efficiency in CHP applications, which generate electricity and use engine heat for select purposes, such as heating a building, a method that doubles the amount of usable energy from the engine.

The CHP package also has the following additions: a skid-mounted cooling sub-system that optimizes the amount of recoverable engine heat; the ECP8000 control panel, which monitors, controls and protects the CHP package; and a skid-mounted gas train with a valve-proving system, Dungs regulator and double blocking valve.
