PrintMTU Supplies Powerpacks To Russian Train Builder

MTU Friedrichshafen, a Tognum subsidiary, received an order for more than 100 Powerpacks from Russian train builder Metrowagonmash, a Transmashholding company. Delivery for the underfloor diesel drives is scheduled for between 2011 and 2013.
MTU is one of few manufacturers that produce power pakcs for wide-gauge rail systems like those in Russia, said the company. They are modularly designed to be individually modified and configured for a variety of vehicle types.
The integrated drive systems comprise a six-cylinder Model 6H 1800 MTU engine rated between 315 and 390 kW, depending on the application.
