Marine Group Boat Works Builds New Military Vessel

Posted on August 30, 2010

Marine Group Boat Works, a service facility that handles repairs, retrofits and other services for boats, has built the new U.S. Navy Range Training Support Craft (RTSC-110), a U.S.A. military vessel capable of launching and recovering objects, such as small high-speed craft, aerial targets and test weapons.

The RTSC-110, which is designed to run on biofuel and features shore power capability, also includes six internal Seakeeper M7000 gyro stabilization systems for crew safety and comfort and is 34.7 m long.

The vessel has a rugged, all-aluminum hull, twin 1342 kW Caterpillar engines and a fuel filtration system that allows it to run on biofuel. With shore power capability, the vessel is also a zero-discharge vessel.
