Siemens Energy Signs Long-Term Service Contracts With First Gen Corp., Poweo

Posted on August 12, 2010

Siemens Energy has signed long-term service contracts with two customers in the Philippines and France valued collectively at US$1.03 billion (€800 million). The service division, a part of the Siemens’ Energy Sector, will provide operation and maintenance services for three power plants.

Subsidiaries of the Philippine power plant operator, First Gen Corp., signed two, 15-year services contracts with Siemens’ Energy service division, which will provide operation and maintenance for natural gas-fired power plants totaling 1000 MW in Santa Rita, Pampanga, Philippines, and for a plant in San Lorenzo, Philippines, with a capacity of 500 MW.

The French power plant operator Poweo signed a 19-year service contract with Siemens, which will handle operation and maintenance for a 413 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant. Siemens is building that power plant, which will be commissioned in early 2013, in Toul, France.

Service is a major growth driver for the company, said Siemens. The company aims to further increase the service business potential by offering additional services.
