Turboden To Supply German Utility With 5 MW Turbogenerator Unit
Turboden, a company that designs and manufactures power generation systems, will provide a 5 MW geothermal Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbogenerator unit to German utility SWM – Stadtwerke München.
The plant’s turbogenerator is based on a two-pressure level cycle, fed with geothermal fluid at 140°C and cooled by air condensers. The plant will provide an existing district heating network with an additional 4 MW of thermal power for space heating; the network is already fed by a 600 kW Turboden biomass unit.
The plant’s startup is planned for the fourth quarter of 2011.
