Posted on June 3, 2005

Siemens Power Generation (PG) will build a turnkey 400 MW combined-cycle power plant in Herdecke in the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The plant will be built for Kraftwerksgesellschaft Herdecke GmbH & Co. KG based in Hagen. The main shareholders of this company are Hagen-based Mark-E AG and the Norwegian utility Statkraft headquartered in Oslo. The order also includes a long-term plant maintenance agreement and its total value is approximately US$246 million.

Siemens PG will build the new natural gas-fired power plant on an existing power plant site in Herdecke. Siemens PG is to supply one gas turbine, one steam turbine and two generators for the new power plant. The scope of supply also encompasses the entire mechanical equipment including a heat-recovery steam generator and the electrical, and instrumentation and control equipment. Plant handover to the customer is scheduled for the summer of 2007.
