Posted on June 15, 2012

Wood Group GTS secured a 10-year, $15 million maintenance agreement with Sime Darby Power Co. in Laem Chabang, Thailand.

The scope of work includes new gas turbine parts supply, component repair and field services for three GE Frame 6B units across two power stations. Also included in the agreement is the installation of Wood Group GTS’ EcoValue power augmentation technology, designed to enhance gas turbine power output and improve heat rate, the company said.

Configured in both cogeneration and combined cycle modes, these gas fired power plants are capable of delivering a total output of 165 MW. Over the last eight years, Wood Group GTS has completed field service work and gas turbine combustion inspections for Sime Darby.

Wood Group GTS also received an additional contract by Sime Darby for the overhaul of a GE Frame 6B compressor rotor at the Laem Chabang power station. All work related to this contract will be performed within Wood Group GTS’ existing workshops in Thailand.
