PrintMAN B&W Receives Two-Stroke Order for Mexico

Spanish contractor Abener Energía S.A. has received an order from Comission Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Mexico, for a diesel power plant with an MAN B&W Diesel 12K80MC-S prime mover.
This order will be a 43 MW extension to an existing 43 MW plant at La Paz, Baja, California Sur. The new plant will work in combined cycle with a bottoming-cycle steam turbine and produce 43 MW (net) at an efficiency rate of 47% at site ambient conditions at station busbar.
The engine, and its related equipment, will be supplied by MAN B&W Diesel's licensee Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (HHI) in Korea. HHI, together with Abener S.A., have already supplied a similar 45 MW plant at San Carlos, Baja, California Sur.
