OPRA Gen-Set Headed To Crespel & Deiters
Netherlands-based OPRA Turbines will supply an OP16 gas turbine-powered generator set to operate in combined heat and power (CHP) mode to Crespel & Deiters, a German wheat starch producer with a focus on the corrugated board and paper industries.
OPRA said its customer is keen to meet the German air regulation requirements “with some margin” in addition to the need for continuous and reliable heat and power. Crespel & Deiters chose the gen-set, which will provide power for its Ibbenbüren, Germany factory, to replace an existing system. The exhaust heat from the gen-set will be used for direct drying for the starch production.
“The clean, high temperature exhaust of the OP16 is ideal for industrial CHP applications,” said Fredrik Mowill of OPRA Turbines. “The market for low emissions gas turbines in the 2MW range has proven to be significant.”
OPRA has delivered to customers operating in CHP mode in the oil and gas market, as well as to industrial customers, such as Fuji Film, Krasnaya Polyana Olympic ski resort, Severnefte-Gazprom and TNK-BP.
