UK-based Centrax Gas Turbines has announced a string of new orders on the day that it opened its expanded facilities. The first is an order to supply pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline with a CX501-KB7 generator set package for a new CHP project. It will provide power and heat for GSK’s Nutritional Healthcare business at the company’s Coleford factory in Gloucestershire, England. The plant makes energy drinks. In addition, the generator set Centrax will supply a waste heat recovery boiler, gas compressor, black start diesel generator and control systems.

The company will also supply three generator sets to the Bermuda Electric Light Company. The 501-KB7 units will each provide 5 MW and will operate on liquid fuel and be used for peak lopping and standby operation to support the existing base load generation.

Finally the company has won an order from Dalkia Alternative Energy to supply a CX501-KB7 generator set for installation at Lakeland Dairies in Co. Cavan, Ireland. The gas fuelled KB7 package will supply 5 MW of power plus heat for the production process at the dairy as part as part of a CHP scheme.

Centrax specializes in the manufacture and service of gas turbine powered gen sets using the Rolls-Royce 501K range and the Rolls-Royce Trent 60 range.
