IZAR Agreement With Australian Navy

Posted on November 1, 2004

IZAR has signed an agreement to develop the project of a strategic projection ship for the Australian Navy. The first phase of the contract includes the pheasibility study which is to be completed in six months. At the conclusion of the first phase, if IZAR is selected as the best option, it would begin to negotiate new contracts, as the project requires two more phases: the functional project and the detail and constructive project. These agreements would include an important technology transfer and technical assistance during the construction. The ship’s concept is a mix of aircraft carrier and an amphibious vessel and consists of an amphibious platform with an onboard aircraft capacity. The ship’s helicopter capabilities are also suited for rescue and disaster relief operations.
