NAES to Operate Luna Energy Facility

North American Energy Services Company (NAES), a broad-based provider of services to the power generation industry, announced that it is providing operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the Luna Energy Facility. Currently under construction with a projected commercial operations date of May 2006, the Luna Energy Facility will be a 570 MW natural-gas fired combined-cycle generating facility located near Deming, New Mexico, U.S.A. The facility is owned by PNM Resources, Phelps Dodge Energy Services LLC, and Tucson Electric Power Company.

The Luna Energy Facility consists of two GE 7FA+e combustion turbines, two single reheat HRSGs with duct firing capability, and one GE D11 steam turbine generator. The facility is equipped with two Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems and dry low-nitrogen oxide gas turbine combustion technology for emissions control. The facility utilizes a 345 kV transmission line interconnection to the Western Electric Coordinating Council (WECC) grid.
