WELtec BioPower to Supply Altus With Biogas Facilities

Posted on November 24, 2008

WELtec BioPower GmbH, the Vechtabased Biogas Plant manufacturer, and Altus AG of Karlsruhe, an international project development company in the field of renewable energies, recently sealed their future partnership in the development of biogas facilities.

Altus has its engineering roots in the areas of landfill construction and waste and water management and has developed an operational model for biogas installations. Under this model the farmer rents out the area set aside for the installation and receives variable remuneration depending on the amount of power and heat produced.

WELtec BioPower GmbH will supply Altus AG with its biogas facilities, as Altus places importance on sound process engineering. The installations from WELtec BioPower GmbH are supplied from one source. The modular design facilitates rapid construction – from competitively priced compact systems to megawatt biogas plants.

The first joint project is the construction of a 1.5 MW installation with gas supply in Hesekem in the borough of Ebsdorfer Grund. Marburg’s public utility companies have already registered their interest in the biomethane produced
