Rolls-Royce Boosts South American Links
Rolls-Royce has boosted its customer support capability in South America with a new Marine Service Center in Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro State. The company has invested US$9 million in the facility to serve its expanding base of installed equipment within the region.
The site will provide customer service support to Brazil's growing fleet of offshore vessels. The 13 000 square meter facility has direct access to Guanabara Bay and a workshop area of 2100 square meters with a hoisting capacity of 100 tonnes. The workshop also includes a machining area and a separate area for cleaning, sandblasting and painting.
The new Marine Service Center will create up to 100 new jobs once fully operational in early 2010.
