GE Opens Energy Technology Center In Russia
GE has opened its Energy Technology Center in Russia, about 180 km outside of Moscow in the Kaluga region. The new technology center will manufacture and service power generation equipment throughout the region.
GE signed an agreement with the government of the Kaluga region, the Kaluga Region Development Corp. and the administration of Kaluga City to construct the technology center in March 2009. By the end of the year, GE expects to have about 300 employees in Russia, with plans for future expansion, the company said.
The center, which will produce fresh-filtered air systems, heat-reflecting windows and water-saving technologies, is one of 12 GE technology centers in the world, according to the company.
