MHI Receives Thai Order for Gas Engine Plant

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has received an order for a gas engine power plant from Thai National Power Company Ltd. (TNP), a Thai subsidiary of International Power plc. The new 23 MW plant is to be built at TNP's power plant site within Siam Eastern Industrial Park in Rayong Province, located southeast of Bangkok. It will include four units of the 18MACH-30G, an 18-cylinder Vee-type gas engine with 5.75 MW rated output. The electricity generated will be supplied to customers within the industrial park. The plant is scheduled to go on-stream in October 2006

Separate from the plant equipment supply agreement, MHI also contracted a 17-year maintenance service agreement for the power plant. Service will be handled by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Thailand) Ltd., a local subsidiary.
