Pratt & Whitney FT8 SWIFTPAC Bound for China
Pratt & Whitney has reached agreement with Amber Investment and Management Company Ltd., in Shanghai, China, to purchase one Pratt & Whitney Power Systems FT8 SWIFTPAC unit. Amber Investment will install the unit at Changxing County in Zhejiang, province of China. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The unit will provide 50 MW of power and will be used for peaking power to meet the cities’ high electricity demands. The SWIFTPAC unit is designed for fast installation and can be up and running in less than three weeks after arriving at the site. The unit is expected to be in operation in April 2006.
