Pratt & Whitney Turbines to Republic of Georgia
Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Corp. company has reached agreement with JSC Energy Invest to provide two Pratt & Whitney Power Systems FT8 SWIFTPAC gas turbine units in the Republic of Georgia. The two units will be used as a simple cycle power plant at the Gardabani Power Station in southeastern Georgia. Financial terms were not disclosed. The natural gas-powered units will each generate 55 MW of power for a total of 110 MW. They are expected to enter operation at year-end.
