Siemens Compressor Trains to Venezuela

Posted on October 25, 2005

Siemens Power Generation (PG) has secured an order valued at approximately US$80 million from Venezuelan oil company Petróleos de Venezula S.A. (PDVSA) to supply 10 compressor trains for the Anaco gas gathering project. The compressor trains will include six high-pressure and four low-pressure units, each being driven by an SGT-400 (formerly called Cyclone) industrial gas turbine. The natural-gas-fired turbines each have a rating of 13.4 MW.

The new compressor trains in Santa Rosa will replace obsolete systems and enhance the availability of existing units. Siemens PG will also handle service operations for the compressor trains. This project is intended to enhance gas supply in western Venezuela in order to further improve the infrastructure in that part of the country.
