Johnson Matthey Brands AdvCCRT System

Posted on October 8, 2009

Johnson Matthey has rebranded its Advanced CCRT System, the second generation CCRT filter technology for heavy duty diesel 2.5g NOx EGR and non-EGR engine retrofits. The new brand name is AdvCCRT System, which replaces the former name, ACCRT System.

Marty Lassen, Johnson Matthey’s director of commercial development and marketing, said, “This is a marketing decision to more clearly differentiate Johnson Matthey’s product from other brand names that may appear to be similar. We want to clearly define this technology for the heavy duty diesel market.” Lassen added that the company is in the process of revising all aspects of the AdvCCRT System’s branding including, but not limited to, packaging, labels, advertising, trade show materials and other marketing and technical literature.

Johnson Matthey’s AdvCCRT System has been verified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for reducing particulate matter (PM) by more than 90%, while meeting EPA’s stringent NO2 slip requirements. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) also verified the AdvCCRT System in April 2009. The AdvCCRT System uses three distinct catalyst formulations specifically engineered for optimum performance. Upstream, a Johnson Matthey oxidation catalyst coated on a flow-through substrate optimizes conditions for the second, downstream catalytically coated wall-flow filter to burn off virtually all PM. The third catalyst, an NO2 decomposition catalyst, then reduces NO2.
