Alstom Receives Two Orders For Power Plants in Singapore
Alstom, a supplier of equipment and services for power generation, has received two orders to build gas-fired combined cycle power plants in Singapore.
The first order, worth US$448.1 million (€320 million) from Keppel Merlimau Cogen (KMC) Pte Ltd., has Alstom prepared to build two 400 MW gas-fired combined cycle units in phases. The order includes an 18-year maintenance contract.
When completed, the two units will increase the company’s production capacity to 1300 MW and add about 10% to the country capacity for electricity generation, Alstom said.
The second order, worth US$364 million (€260 million), has Alstom set to construct a new 400 MW power plant for Tuas Power Generation Pte Ltd. (TPG) in Singapore. Alstom will provide the entire power plant, equipment, including a GT26 gas turbine, and maintenance. The plant should be completed in 2014.
