First Mitsubishi Gas Turbine Shipped From New Facility
Two additional turbines expected to power Virginia power plant
The first commercial Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas M501GAC gas turbine has been shipped from Savannah Machinery Works 18 months after its US$325 million gas turbine manufacturing and service facility was dedicated.
The move marks the first of three M501GAC gas turbines and one steam turbine that will be delivered to Dominion Virginia Power for the Warren County power station in Front Royal, Virginia, U.S.A. The 1300 MW power station will supply electricity for 325 000 homes during peak demand.
Earlier this year, Mitsubishi received a second order from Dominion to supply three gas turbines and one steam turbine for the Brunswick County power station in southern Virginia.
