Centrax and Turbomeca Sign Maintenance Deal
Centrax Gas Turbines has signed an agreement with French packager Turbomeca to take over the maintenance of its Rolls-Royce 501 class generator set business. Turbomeca has recently re-evaluated its direction and decided to focus the industrial side of its business on its own engines and to stop marketing the 501, according to Centrax which is based in Newton Abbot, Devon, England.
Mr Didier Blauwart, vice president Land and Marine at Turbomeca, said it selected Centrax because of its “exceptional knowledge” of the 501 and that its European infrastructure meant it could take over existing contracts and would be acceptable to its customers.
Centrax said that it had been working with Turbomeca recently to provide essential maintenance to ensure customers have equipment ready for the winter heating season.
The UK company has also announced that OTEC KEMAJUAN has been appointed as Centrax agents for Malaysia. Based in Kuala Lumpur, OTEC will represent Centrax for the 501 range in both industrial power generation and oil and gas projects on and offshore. OTEC has been Rolls-Royce agents for some 20 years.
