Double Success for Brotherhood

Posted on September 4, 2006

Steam turbine specialist Peter Brotherhood has secured two more major orders. The company has won two contracts from Single Buoy Moorings (SBM) worth a total of US$6.6 million to design and manufacture two condensing steam turbine driven generator sets for FPSO vessels moored off the coast of West Africa. The two turbo-generator sets will generate 12 MW and 14 MW of power from steam raised by a central boiler. They will be delivered to the end users SBM and Exxon in December 2006 and March 2007.

In a separate deal Sudanese Sugar has chosen Peter Brotherhood to supply four replacement steam turbine rotors to the Assalaya and Sennar Sugar Mills in Sudan. The rotors are from existing Peter Brotherhood steam turbines which have been running in waste-to-energy systems installed at the mills thirty years ago. With associated services, this latest order is worth almost US$1.5 million. The rotors were due to be delivered to the mills during September and October 2006.
