Riley Power to Supply SCR System to Kentucky Power Plant
Riley Power Inc. has received a contract from Kentucky Utilities Company, a subsidiary of E.ON US LLC, for the design and supply of a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system for its EW Brown Generating Station Unit 3.
SCR systems designed by Riley Power offer Delta Wing static mixing technology that provides uniform flue gas and ammonia mixing, high NOx removal efficiencies over a wide operating load range and rapid start-up and commissioning, the company said. SCR systems furnished by Riley Power utilize technology under an exclusive license from Balcke Durr GmbH, and from other proprietary sources. Riley Power SCRs have been supplied in over 37,000 MW of power plant generation in the USA in operation, under construction, or in design.
The EW Brown Generating Station Unit 3 is a 450 gross megawatt coal-fired boiler located in Burgin, Kentucky. The station is unique in showcasing three generations of electricity-producing processes, including hydro, fossil fuel, and combustion turbine.
