Schottel Releases New Rudder Propeller

Schottel announced its new SRP 0320 rudder propeller (STP 0320 for the twin propeller) at the SMM exhibition. Designed to be the smaller model in the range, it features a diameter of 0.65 to 0.85 m and a weight of 1.50 ton, the Rudder propeller provides a power of 150 to 220 kW at 1800/2300 r/min. It is also available with a nozzle and features integrated hydraulic system. Its main applications are small work vessels, barges, push boats, passenger ships and double-ended ferries.

Schottel also announced the new SRP 4000 (STP 4000 for the twin propeller), that positions itself in the middle of the SRP range and is the first of an entirely new generation of azimuth thrusters. The new product is compact and about 20% lighter than its equivalent model in the current series, said the company. It features integrated steering hydraulics and a 35% reduced oil charge. The SRP 4000 is available with propeller nozzle for high-speed applications and in a SPR 4000 T variant developed for tug boats with a bollard pull of 80 ton and more.

In addition, an extension of the controllable-pitch propeller range with five-blade variants: the SCP 5-X series, with power ratings from 1000 to 30 000 kW, was also announced.

Schottel also introduced the new Schottel STT transverse thruster range represents a completely re-engineered product series, in five models from 600 to 1500 kW, available for fixed and controllable-pitch propellers.
