At the opening ceremony for the Expo, Xie Zhenhua, executive vice-president of China Electricity Council (CEC) which sponsored the show, enthused that China’s power industry has continued on a sustainable and accelerated growth trend since the beginning of 2009. In particular, the development of green energy has moved to the top of the agenda, while power grid enhancement projects blossomed across the country.

Some 400 leading suppliers from 20 countries exhibited at the expo, including some of the major players in the market such as ABB, Siemens, 3M, Schniewindt, Hitachi, Toshiba, Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Honeywell. A number of emerging strong domestic players also displayed their full array of products.
