Hyundai Heavy Joins Restoration Work in Haiti

Hyundai Heavy Industries deployed engineers to check the 60 MW packaged power station (PPS) installed in Port-au-Prince in earthquake-stricken Haiti. The PPS is essential in restoring power to the capital.

It is reported that there has been no damage to the Hyundai Heavy PPS in the devastated area so far. Hyundai Heavy PPS that also well endured the harsh weather back in September 2008 when a devastating hurricane landed in Cuba.

The PPS Hyundai Heavy installed in Haiti and DPP (Diesel Power Plant) are manufactured based on the in-house brand HiMSEN engine. These facilities are serving as an important power generating equipment in 32 countries including Cuba, Brazil, Haiti and Dominica. It is expected that PPS will play a bigger role as power-generating equipment in hurricane and earthquake-prone regions.
