MAN Diesel & Turbo's Turbocharger Technology Wins Seatrade Award
MAN Diesel & Turbo recently received the global Seatrade Award in the category Protection of the Marine and Atmospheric Environment. The company received the award for its Variable Turbine Area (VTA) technology for TCA and TCR turbochargers.
The VTA matches the volume of charge air automatically and continuously to the quantity of fuel oil injected at any operation point of an engine’s load and speed range. According to the company, this technology provides improved engine response, fuel savings and reduced emissions.
